MINDFULNESS THERAPY FOR WOMEN

IN MERRICK, NY

DOES LIFE FEEL MORE CHAOTIC AND STRESSFUL THAN EVER?

Life moves quickly…and so do you. But at night when things slow down, are you left feeling exhausted, empty, and unhappy? During the day are you stressed out and anxious? Are you getting set off by small things or making quick decisions that you later regret?

When life gets chaotic or off track you may notice that…

  • Your mind is racing, like you can’t stop your thoughts

  • You are hard on yourself and can’t escape the harsh inner voice

  • You feel lost, overwhelmed, and numb

  • You have headaches, stomach issues, or chronic pain

  • You can’t eat or eat too much

  • You feel like you can’t do anything right

These are all indications of the need to slow down and engage in self-care. Too often women do so much for the people around them, but we neglect ourselves and it seems no one recognizes what we do or are going through. You may be asking, “There must be something wrong with me.” You may just want things to calm down and to feel at peace again and don’t know where to start. Exploring therapy is a wonderful beginning!

MINDFULNESS THERAPY CAN HELP.

I am certified in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction to support you through stress, anxiety, depression and big life transitions. Research shows that Mindfulness Meditation is a powerful tool that works to reduce stress, anxiety and calm the nervous system. I teach women how to use Mindfulness Meditation to combat the mental, physical and emotional challenges that life throws at you, so that you feel strong and confident tackling the next stage of your journey.

WHAT IS MINDFULNESS THERAPY?

Mindfulness helps you slow down and pay attention to your experience—your feelings, emotions, and sensations—without judgment.

While the concept seems simple (and being present is actually something innate to us as humans!), it can be difficult to stay in the present moment. In today’s day and age, our attention is being constantly pulled in all directions.

Learning how to slow down and stay present takes practice, but when you master it, it has the power to change everything.

That’s what you’ll learn to do in mindfulness therapy: To slow down. To pay attention. To attend to what you are feeling and needing in any given moment, without all of the rumination, overwhelm, or reactivity you have noticed in the past.

What happens in mindfulness therapy sessions?

MINDFULNESS CAN LOOK A LOT OF DIFFERENT WAYS. I’LL HELP YOU FIND STRATEGIES THAT WORK BEST FOR YOU.

  • The practice of tuning into the present moment and noticing what is happening in the here and now, without judgment or the need to change anything.

  • Slow intentional breaths that bring more oxygen into your body. This in turn will slow down your heart rate, your mind, and signal to your body that it’s safe to relax.

  • Involves focusing on imagery or visualization, using imagination to help put your body in a more relaxed state.

  • A technique to help you increase awareness of your body to reconnect with yourself.

  • Helps in reducing self-critical thoughts and behaviors. By directing compassionate feelings towards oneself.

  • This movement allows you to check in with your body and get moving in a way that can lower stress and strengthen your mind-body connection.

  • Activities to reduce emotional reactivity and allow for balanced, purposeful responses to stressful things that happen in life

MINDFULNESS SHIFTS YOUR MINDSET.

By practicing awareness and non-judgment, you can develop a deeper sense of gratitude and acceptance. It sounds simple, (and it is!) but it can change your life in a profound way.

Mindfulness therapy can help you…

  • Move from stress to peace & from anxiety to balance

  • Gain control of your emotions, moving from being reactive to responsive

  • Release judgment and fear of your flaws and imperfections

  • Learn how to love and accept yourself as you are

  • Feel fulfillment and able to truly enjoy your life
