Bringing joy and harmony into all your relationships
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR RELATIONSHIP ISSUES
SUPPORTING WOMEN IN MERRICK, NY
When it comes to relationships, do you find yourself thinking…
This makes me so mad. I just can’t take it anymore!
The only luck I have in a relationship is bad luck.
My life is a mess! If something can go wrong, it will.
I just know it won’t work out.
What was I thinking? I am so stupid!
When will I ever learn? It’s just no use…
The truth is, deep down you really want a relationship that feels close and connected, but things keep getting in the way. You’re frustrated, disappointed, and at wit’s end.
Sometimes you feel unsure about how you feel or what you need, so you find yourself just going along with what everyone else wants. You say yes, when really you want to say no—because sharing how you really feel may lead to disapproval or rejection. So you keep the peace and harmony in your relationships even if it’s at your own expense. You are afraid of conflict, but you’re also tired of feeling left out, forgotten, or second-class in your relationships.
Sometimes you want to communicate how you feel, but you’re not always comfortable talking about your feelings. Honestly, you don't really know how or what to say. When you try to communicate, your tone of voice or body language gets in the way of people hearing what you really mean. You feel misunderstood, even by the closest people in your life. It can send you into a spiral thinking, “I should have never opened my mouth. Why did I even try?”
I SUPPORT WOMEN WHO ARE DEALING WITH RELATIONSHIP ISSUES THAT HAVE THEM FEELING DEFEATED, DISCOURAGED, AND DEPLETED.
This is a space for you to come as you are and share how you truly feel. I help women to let go of painful patterns, especially people-pleasing, so they can rediscover their strengths and what makes them sparkle.
I will tell you a little secret: Being vulnerable is the only way to become the best version of yourself, to experience fulfilling relationships, and to discover deeper joy in life. I know it sounds scary, but you won’t be alone. By showing up and speaking from the heart, you can find your way to your true self and the rich relationships you want for your life.
-
The first step is to get to know each other and to build trust. This is number one in order to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your concerns and feelings.
-
I will listen to your story and ask questions to understand more about you and your relationships. Together we will explore patterns, past experiences, and your perspective of the issues in your relationships.
-
I will work with you collaboratively to set goals for what you want to see change in your relationships and in your life. For example, a goal might be to improve communication and conflict resolution skills.
-
I will teach you specific skills to overcome the challenges. This can include communication techniques, conflict resolution strategies, or ways to cope with anxiety and depression.
-
I will help you notice the negative thought patterns and behaviors contributing to your relationship issues, then provide strategies to address these problem areas.
-
I will assign exercises or tasks for you to work on outside of sessions to practice the new skills you’ve learned.
-
I strongly emphasize the importance of individual well-being as a foundation for a healthy relationship. I will help you explore self-care and personal development activities and encourage you to incorporate them into your daily life.
